Jackwind Guitar Lesson — Studio Policy

These policies help ensure a consistent, professional learning experience for all students and families.

Punctuality & Attendance

Consistent practice and attendance are essential to steady progress.

  • Please arrive on time. Lessons are scheduled back-to-back and cannot extend into the next student’s time.
  • Attend all scheduled lessons to support consistent musical growth.

Tuition & Payment

  • Tuition is paid monthly in advance and is due by the first scheduled lesson of each month.
  • Monthly tuition covers four or five weeks depending on the calendar.
  • No lesson will be given if tuition is not prepaid.
  • Accepted payment methods: cash and personal checks.

Cancellations & Missed Lessons

  • A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel a lesson. Without sufficient notice, the lesson is forfeited and charged.
  • Canceling or missing a lesson does not reduce or delay tuition. No-shows will not be made up.
  • If the instructor cancels, a make-up lesson will be scheduled or a credit will be applied.

Student Preparation & Participation

  • Complete assigned practice and exercises between lessons.
  • Bring your instrument and course materials to each lesson.
  • Active participation and preparation support steady progress.

Make-Up Lessons

  • If more than one absence occurs in a calendar month, a make-up may be offered if time and space permit; the instructor is not obligated to provide make-ups.
  • All make-ups must be completed within the same month as the absence. There are no “make-ups of make-ups.”
  • If a scheduled make-up is missed by the student, the lesson is forfeited.
  • No refunds are issued for student absences. Credits are provided only for instructor absences.

Equipment

  • Students must have their own instrument (guitar, bass, or ukulele), picks, and a tuner.
  • Instruments must be playable and of standard quality; toy instruments are not acceptable.
  • Proper setup, tuning, and maintenance support ear training, tone, and pitch recognition.
  • Keep instruments clean and in good condition.

Parent Participation

  • Parents are welcome to observe on the first day of class.
  • Questions or concerns can be discussed directly with the instructor to support the student’s learning.

Liability Disclaimer & Notices

By enrolling in Jackwind Guitar Lesson, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Participation in lessons is voluntary and may involve physical activity. You accept responsibility for any personal injury to yourself or your child arising from participation.
  • You release and hold harmless Jackwind Guitar Lesson, the instructor, and its personnel from any claim or liability related to participation in lessons or programs.
  • Students may be photographed or recorded during lessons. You consent to the use of such images or recordings for promotional purposes for Jackwind Guitar Lesson.

Agreement

By enrolling and submitting tuition, the student and parent/guardian acknowledge receipt of this studio policy and agree to the terms above.
